These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Quillseek software application (the "Software") and this website. By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms.
Quillseek is developed and operated by the Quillseek operator, an individual merchant based in mainland China ("we", "us"). Contact: dochub365@hotmail.com.
The free edition of the Software is licensed to you free of charge, for personal or business use, on a perpetual basis, subject to the feature limitations described on the download page. You may install it on any computers you use.
The Pro edition is unlocked with a license key purchased through our checkout provider (Paddle.com, acting as Merchant of Record). Each Pro license key is issued to a single user, who may activate and use the Software on up to two (2) computers for that user's own use. License verification is performed offline on your computer; the Software does not require an internet connection to activate.
License keys are personal to the purchaser and may not be resold, redistributed, or shared publicly. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy; a refunded license key must stop being used.
Quillseek indexes documents already stored on your computer to make them searchable, and keeps a local record of file changes for documents you choose to monitor. It operates entirely locally: it does not upload, transmit, or share your files or search queries with us or any third party. You remain the sole owner of, and responsible for, all documents on your computer.
You agree not to:
The Software, this website, and all related materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. We retain all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms. Your documents and your index data remain yours — we claim no rights over them.
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every system configuration. Search and indexing results depend on your documents and settings; always verify important results against the original files.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Software or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the Software (or, for free-edition users, USD 0). In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption. Because the Software only reads and indexes files you direct it to, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your documents.
You may stop using the Software and delete it at any time. We may terminate or suspend your license if you materially breach these Terms — for example, by redistributing the Software or a Pro license key in violation of Section 2 or 4.
We may update the Software and these Terms over time. Updated Terms take effect when posted on this page with a new date. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you may stop using the Software; free-edition users lose nothing, and paid-edition users who purchased within the preceding 30 days may request a refund under our Refund Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are unaffected.
